Refraction Volleyball Club was started with a simple belief: every athlete deserves the chance to play competitive volleyball, regardless of their financial situation.
We saw how high club fees were shutting passionate players out of the sport they love. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we work hard to keep costs manageable so families in our community don't have to choose between their budget and their child's athletic dreams.
Our leadership team combines deep volleyball knowledge with a genuine love for working with kids:
Dedicated Leadership: Founded by a volleyball parent who loves guiding young athletes and creating opportunities for them to thrive.
Experienced Coaching: Led by a coaching staff that includes former high school standouts and experienced college-level coaches who know what it takes to develop strong players.
Above all, we are a Christ-centered club. We strive to provide a safe, encouraging space where young women can use their God-given talents, build lasting friendships, and grow in confidence both on and off the court. Whether your player is chasing big volleyball goals or simply looking for a supportive team to call home, we are honored to walk alongside your family.
People often ask where the name Refraction came from. It didn't come from a sports cliché or a branding exercise—it came from a deeply personal journey of faith and calling.
A while back, I took a class at church called Discover Your Calling. By the end of the course, we were asked to summarize our purpose, and the two words God placed on my heart were Shattering Prisms.
So often in life and sports, we put so much energy into trying to hold everything together—trying to look flawless, unbroken, and complete on our own. But a prism only redirects light in predictable lines until it breaks. When those rigid prisms shatter, something incredible happens: light strikes every broken edge and fractured angle, bending and scattering into a brilliant, stunning spectrum of color.
That process of bending and transforming light through brokenness is refraction.
We are called to show God’s grace and love through our broken experiences, not by pretending we have it all together. That is the foundational heart of Refraction Volleyball Club. On the court and in life, we want to teach our athletes that mistakes, struggles, and fractured moments aren't the end of the story—they are where the light breaks through, creating a vibrant, unified team that shines brighter together than we ever could alone.
